• Midwife/Nursing Diploma/or Degree
• Two (2) years of professional experience post or after qualification
• Midwifery training and work experience in remote locations
• Previous competent skills in all clinical skills to provide care, train and supervise local staff
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and Arabic (spoken)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and email
• Supervise perinatal care, primary health services including ANC, skilled delivery, PNC
• Ensure non-medical items are distributed and accurate records are maintained
• Ensure health education messages including IYCF, importance of hospital delivery, hygiene, E~I, family planning
are provided to women attending antenatal care
• Line manage locally recruited staff act as team leader when requested working in the health centres
• Responsible to continuously monitor progress against set objectives
• Attend meetings whenever requested to do so
• Refer to the ERT Health Project Manager and the Medical Advisor for medical referrals and before making any
commitment on behalf of Medair, whether verbal or written
• Prepare field orders for approval by the Project Manager ensuring that adequate stocks are available for patient
load at all times
• provide on the job training and supervision of locally recruited staff including clinicians, midwives and TBA
• Responsible for medical administration and report writing at clinic level (DHIS, IDSR) and contribution to ERT
assessment and intervention reports
• Participate in disease outbreak responses including case management
• Fully responsible to continuously monitor progress against set objectives
