Embu County is a geopolitical-administrative region in Kenya. It is one of the 47 Counties established under the First Schedule of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. The headquarters of the County are in Embu town which is 130 km north-east of Nairobi.
The County has a population of 516,212 people and covers an area of 2,818 Sq km. The major ethnic communities in the County are the Embu, Mbeere and the Kamba. There are also found other cosmopolitan ethnic communities especially in the urban centres of the County.
